Our Story

By Bec Designs is a small business owned and operated by Bec and Tristan in the beautiful Bay of Islands, New Zealand. 

I've (Bec) always wanted our home to smell just like that store that you walk into and are struck by the scent of candles and soaps and gorgeous things. For that reason we have always had soap, candles and melts strategically placed around our house to always catch a beautiful scent.

It was because of my love for candles and soaps and all things that smell amazing that we thought that this passion was potentially something we develop ourselves. So we started making candles and melts and discovered that we loved the process of making them and trying to make them look beautiful in the jar or package they were in. From this blossomed By Bec Designs.

All of our products are as natural as possible and safe for us, our children and our pets.

We only use 100% Soy wax (so no additives), quality fragrances that are Phthalate free, reusable glassware and cotton wicks.  We make our Soy wax products by hand (so none of this mass producing practice) using quality ingredients from suppliers whose products we have tested.

We also produce our own product labels (which is another of Bec's passions) so while it may take more time to produce our product you are truly receiving a gorgeously scented item that has been carefully and personally produced.

We believe in managing our business as responsibility and ethically as possible which is why we try to use natural products whenever possible and why we mostly reuse packaging that we have received from suppliers when packing your orders. We do not (and could not) test on animals.
