Why Soy Wax Candles & Melts?

Here are some of the reasons we only use Soy wax in our By Bec Designs products;

• Soy wax is a natural product as it is made from vegetable oil (soybeans). Compare this to paraffin candles which are made from petroleum oil. 
• Soy wax is made from a soybeans so is naturally biodegradable as well as being a renewable resource.
• Soy wax does not increase the carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere like paraffin candles do.
• Soy candles burn around 50% longer than other candle types. So while Soy wax candles and melts are often more expensive they are still more cost effective in the long term. 
• Soy wax melts evenly, leaving almost no excess wax on the sides of a jar.
• Soy wax burns cleaner than many other wax products.
• Soy wax doesn't produce much black soot like paraffin candles do. Did you know that if you burn a lot of paraffin candles, over time the soot can cause discolouration to your walls and curtains and stain the edges of rugs.
• Because Soy wax is made from vegetable oil it has a lower melting point (so the wax itself doesn’t get as hot) and release no known carcinogens into the air.
• In comparison to paraffin wax products Soy wax is much healthier for humans, pets, and the environment. 
• Soy wax "throws well" meaning that it fills the room with a strong long lasting scent. Not only is the scent stronger but it has a cleaner smell.
• Paraffin wax products are known to cause headaches to some users. This is not related to the scent but the additional chemicals the paraffin gives off. So because Soy wax burns cleaner you get a cleaner scent.
